IMPHAL, March 14: The Federation of Regional Indigenous Society (FRIENDS) today provided free medicines to four village Chiefs of the hills districts today noon in a simple function held at the head office of FRIENDS at Keishampat.
Speaking on the occasion, Sapamcha Jadumani President of FRIENDS said that the free medicine distribution was being organized under the theme of sharing and forging a bond of love among all those living in the state, to safeguard the state`s territorial integrity and to sharing love and appreciation of brotherhood.
Reiterating that FRIENDS had already organized many free medicine camp at various places of the state, he said the medicine distribution today was in continuation of its efforts.
He further appealed to all the sections of society to stand united for implementing the Inner Line permit in the state so as to safe and protect the indigenous people of the state which he said are being threatened by illegal migrants.
President Sapamcha Jadumani distributed the medicines to four village chief of the hills. The Chiefs included P S Wungnagoi Village chief of Khagoi village in Ukhrul district; J M Athotmi, Village authority Kasom khullen of Ukhrul district; Ngaranmi Village chief Karang Khullen of Ukhrul district and Ahkhui, Village chief of Leisipung village in Senapati district
Speaking at the function Pebam Premkumar, Organization secretary of FRIENDS said that all the medicine were provided for the free medicines distribution by different medicine companies based in the state.
