IMPHAL, March 15: A road accident on Tiddim road along the Imphal- churachandpur road today morning at around 9 am in front of the ISCKON temple under Lamphel police station left a couple dead.
The accident took place today morning at around 9 am when a Bolero bearing registration number MNO1X coming from the Imphal side toward Churanchandpur hit an Alto car (registration number MNO1X/ 0654) going by the same direction. The impact of collision led the vehicles to lose control and hitting the road median. The husband and wife duo who were coming from the opposite direction were hit, the impact of which dragged them to a culvert. The two were rushed to the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) Lamphal pat with serious injuries and succumbed to their death around noon.
The deceased husband and wife have been identified as Remlalian (40) son of Vanlalmuon and his wife, Lalsuonmoi alias Mawomi (36) of Venglai Rangkei Churachandpur district. The Singjamei Police have taken up a case regarding the incident.
