ITI Takyel students on boycott over fake ID issue

IMPHAL, March 18: Students of the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Takyel are boycotting classes as part of their agitation against the Principal of the Institute alleging his involvement in issuing fake ID cards of the institute and mismanagement of funds along with some students of the Institute.

Speaking to the media today noon at the Institute complex, Ch Surajkumar the Social and cultural Secretary of the ITI College alleged that N Momocha, the Magazine Secretary of the Union has been found issuing about 40 identity cards to different individuals forging the signature of the Institute’s Principal. Momocha had not only embezzled a huge amount of fund from different sources of the institute but also made fake ID cards with a stamp seal reading ‘craftsman training institute’ , he alleged. Surajkumar further continued that the Principal was informed and urged to take action against Momocha. But he claimed that not only did the Principal remain silent but he also sent  Momocha with some students for an external study tour out of the state for the year 2011-2012.

Expressing his suspicion that the the Principal of the Institute might be involved in the fake ID scam, Surajkumar appealed  to the concerned Department to look further into the matter and bring the real culprits who are involved at the earliest, failing which, student will continue to boycott their classes.
