Over 3 lakh children attended polio vaccination in Manipur

    IMPHAl, March 14 (NNN): A total of 3, 58, 910 children got polio vaccinated in Manipur under Pulse Polio Immunization Programme or IPPI programme during the two rounds of vaccination in the early part of the current year.

    Official sources in Manipur State Family Welfare Department told Newmai News Network that a total of 3, 57, 910 children in the nine districts of Manipur were administered polio drops in the two rounds of vaccination under the IPPI programme on January 13 and  February 24 respectively.

    Imphal West district recorded a total of 60,836 children, the highest number of children to be given polio drops during the two rounds of vaccination with Tamenglong district registering the least number of polio vaccinated children at 16594.

    However, the programme set the target of vaccinating  3, 60, 911 children. A total of 3, 01, 293 children were vaccinated at polio booths during the programme while the number of children vaccinated at doors was recorded at 44, 834, the sources said.
