KANGPOKPI, Mar 16: Tingneilhing Hangshing, better halves of Autonomous District Council Sadar Hills Chairman Haokholal Hangshing today distributed Umorok saplings to locals of Kangpokpi at the chairman residence at Kangpokpi town on behalf of her husband as he is attending an important official meeting at Imphal.
Tingneilhing Hangshing told the locals that, “It is very unfortunate that the Chairman himself due an important official meeting at Imphal could not take part in the saplings distribution function today.
She further said that, any beneficial works for the local development should not delay; rather it should be implemented at the allotted time with punctuality. So I myself come to distribute these saplings on behalf of the chairman for the welfare of the society and the general public and also to avail fitting benefit by the beneficiaries in the appropriate time.
Kanggui (Kangpokpi) Women Welfare Organization, a local women body is given full responsibility to distribute the saplings at the doorstep of every household of Kangpokpi town.
Tingneilhing Hangshing appeal to the local women body to distribute sincerely to ensure that saplings reach every household of the town and to the expectation of the Chairman.
Mentioned may be made that, Kangpokpi town comprised 17 Ward. Each ward is comprised of 50/60 household in average.
It is also learned that every Member of District Council, Kangpokpi also took the saplings from the Chairman temporary residence at Imphal to distribute at their respective constituencies.
Hoinu Kipgen, president of the Kanggui (Kangpokpi) Women Welfare Organization on behalf of the local residents expresses heartfelt gratitude to the chairman of Autonomous District Council Sadar Hills Haokholal Hangsing for his endless contribution towards the town while they appreciate the initiative role taken by his better half Tingneilhing Hangshing to ensure any local development works is implemented at the allotted time to avail full advantage.
The distribution function was also attended by representatives of Kanggui Town Committee and KWWO members.
