IMPHAL, March 5: The full security rehearsal of security personnel who will be deployed at the new Manipur Legislative Assembly building at Chingmeirong for the 4th Session of the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly commencing tomorrow at 11 am was held today.
According to reports, tight security arrangement have been made as Governor Gurbachan Jagat will be addressing the house on its first day of the session. Tight security arrangement has been made especially around Gate No 1 where the Governor, Chief Minister, Dy Chief Minister, Speaker, other Ministers, Hill Areas Committee (HAC) Chairmen, Parliamentary Secretary and MLAs will enter and around Gate No 2, from where they will exit.
Further, security personnel were also instructed to stay alert at the main entrance door (basement), Gate No 3, Gallery, Assembly Compound etc.
Around 200 security personnel in plain clothes who will be deployed in and around the assembly building, took part in today’s rehearsal.
Meanwhile, uniformed security personnel who are deployed in the surrounding areas of Assembly complex have also tightened up their security measures.
It may be mentioned here that on February 22 last, the Chief security officer of Manipur Legislative Assembly Th Nimai Singh issued an official notification to tighten up security measures for the Assembly session commencing tomorrow.
