IMPHAL, March 5: Irom Chanu Sharmila has been brought back to the state after she was produced before the Metropolitan Magistrate no 6 at Patiala court complex New Delhi today noon in an Air India flight and taken back to judicial custody at JNIMS Hospital.
Speaking to the media after she landed at Imphal Tulihal airport today, she expressed her dissatisfaction over the charge leveled against her for attempt to commit suicide under Section 309 of the Indian Penal Code for fasting at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi.
It may be mentioned that she was taken to the New Delhi by the state authority along with 8 other officials from three different departments including 3 officials from directorate of Health services including a specialist, two officials from police department and two staffs of jail authority including an assistant jailor on march 2 after she was summoned to appear before the Patiala house court for a case registered a case against her by the Delhi police for holding a protest at Jantar Mantar New Delhi on October 5, in 2006 demanding for the repeal of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act 1958 from the state.
