IMPHAL, March 6: A two-day orientation cum training program on “Media & Accessibility” will be held on March 14-15, 2013 at the Department of Mass Communication, Manipur University.
The program is being organized by the Ali Yavar Jung National Institute for the Hearing Handicapped (AYJNIHH), Mumbai, in collaboration with the Department of Mass Communication, MU.
According to a release of the department, this training program which is a part of a country-wide program, has been specifically designed for communication professionals and students of Mass Communication/ Public Relations/Journalism/ Electronic Media in order to facilitate towards implementation of Articles 8, 9 and 21 of the United Nations Convention of Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD) and the guidelines dealing with awareness, accessibility and access to information with reference to the mass media.
The focus is on practical skills, information on media tools and techniques to improve media & website accessibility, the communication delivery in media houses and organizations.
