LAMKA, March 13: The ZO Re-Unification (ZORO) Northern Zone today called a press meet on the impending conference which is to be hosted and held at YPA Hall, Hiangtam Lamka on March 14 2013 at 11:00 am.
R Thangmoia, President of ZORO wsaid that the UN had recognized the ZORO way back on May 21, 2004 as the representative of the ZO Tribes, at its Geneva conference, in the UNO.
He continued that without unification, the ZO (Chin, Kuki, Mizo, Zomi) had no prospect as they are at a numerical and psychological disadvantage and said that the aim of ZORO is to integrate the ZO tribe into one Umbrella organization under one common administration.
On being asked the ultimate goal of the ZORO, he said that the course of action will be decided by the people only and as of now, ZORO aims to start with a common administration under one roof which will be the platform for the unified ZO tribe and their future so as to avail their fundamental right that is enshrined in the UN Charter.
The ZORO with its HQ at Zoram was establish as a political party way back in 1988 and by 1991 took the form of an NGO representing ZO Tribes in the UN.
