IMPHAL, April 5 (NNN): The All Tribal Students Union, Manipur (ATSUM) has cautioned the Revolutionary Peoples` Front/Peoples` Liberation Army (PLA) that ignoring the sentiment of the general public on the issue of Alice Kamei will serve more harm than good.

ATSUM said today that all sections of the people have been protesting demanding the release of Alice Kamei, a school girl who had allegedly held captive in the custody of RPF/PLA since March 10.

The RPF/PLA says Alice Kamei has already attained 16 years and had joined the outfit on her own volition. But the parents of Alice Kamei said she is only 14 years old.

“When comes to this matter, it is the parents who should know more better about the age of their children and not anyone else,” stated ATSUM.

ATSUM then said the any revolutionary group cannot survive without the support of the public. “So the RPF/PLA should understand the sentiment of the general public,” advised the tribal students` body.
