IMPHAL, April 4: The Chanura Microfin Manipur (CMM) organized its 6th foundation day celebration, 2013 at Lamyanba Sanglen, Palace Compound here today. Rewards were distributed to certain staffs for their excellence in performance.
During the occasion, prizes were distributed to the winners of the painting competition under the theme “Role of Manipuri woman” held at the Main Stadium at Rose Garden, Khuman Lampak on March 24, 2013.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Robita Sorokhaibam Associate Professor, Commerce Department Manipur University stressed on the need of women empowerment in the state.
“There is a need for economical development or empowerment in the first place and women need to be economically independent. The root cause for many of the family crisis in the state is on financial grounds,” she said while adding that people do not respect those who do not have a source of income.
SV Nemlekar, General Manager and OIC NABARD, Regional Office Manipur as chief guest at the occasion pointed out that CMM has 100% recovery percentage and its experience would be a guiding phase for banks, adding that he would recommend CMM to the State Bank of India.
Presided over by Kh Yaiskul Singh, Chairman CMM, the occasion was attended by SP Gangte, Branch Manager SIDBI Imphal; and Rajiv Khaidem, Branch Manager NEDFI Imphal as Guests of honor.
