IMPHAL, April 2: Two district and session courts will be set up for the first time for Thoubal and Bishnupur districts, the process for which the Manipur Government has started due process; according to a reliable source.
Once the courts of the said two districts begin to function, it will help deal with the trials of various crimes occurring in the two districts, sources said.
The source continued that stringent measures to set up the two new courts within April have been initiated. It is said that all the necessary infra-structures of two courts to be newly set up are in a condition to adjust the ones which have already been there in the state.
Meanwhile, Chief justice, Abhay Manohar Sapre who has begun to discharge his duty with Governor Gurbacharan Jagat of the state administering oath of office and secrecy to him as the Chief Justice of the Manipur High Court on March 23 inspected the condition of the courts located at Thoubal and Bishnupur districts.
A team led by Chief Justice AM Sapre inspected the conditions of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Thoubal and the Judicial Magistrate 1st class, Thoubal at Thoubal district head quarters yesterday evening.
Today in the evening, a team led by the Chief Justice visited the Bishnupur District Head Quarters and inspected the conditions of the Courts of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Bishnupur and Judicial Magistrate 1st class, Bishnupur of the district.
Chief Justice AM Sapre was accompanied by Nongmeikapam Kotiswar; Registrar, Deputy Registrar and concerned officials during the inspection tours.
It is also learnt that the inspection visits will continue in other courts as well.
Mention may be made that all the official activities of the court were taken up by Chief Justice of India Altamas Kabir on March 25.
