Governor addresses two day symposium on Indian dances

    IMPHAL, April 20: Speaking at the inaugural function of the two-day symposium & festival on Indian dances held at JNMDA auditorium on  April 20, 2013 the Governor Gurbachan Jagat appreciated the objective of the Symposium cum Festival to strengthen global cultural relations and assist in opening new vistas towards enhancing innovative dance and music productions at International and National Levels with the ideal of oneness, unity with emphasis on human values.

    The Inaugural Function of the 2- Day Symposium & Festival on Indian Dances, was organized by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations in collaboration with the Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy under the initiative of the Thoibi Manipuri Dance and Cultural Institute. 

    The Governor expressed  his hope that the symposium would look into the different aspects of the Indian dance forms and noted that  the Festival will bring out the best dance form of this sub-continent which he hoped will enthrall the discerning audience of Manipur.
