IMPHAL, April 19: A non-Manipuri working at the City Heart Hotel located at Mahatma Gandhi Avenue under city police station at around 6.45 a.m.stabbed another non-Manipuri to death. The deceased has been identified as Jantu Das (18), son of Bordh Das of Latingkhal of Jiribam.
The shop owner, Lalan Ram (40), son of late Daisai Ram, Siwan District, Bihar disclosed that the deceased Jantu Das was a waiter of the hotel while the culprit Rajib Das (19), son of late Sajal Das of Rongtal of Lakhimpur of Silchar was serving as plate Master at the hotel.
They quarreled while they were working in the kitchen of the hotel following which Rajib Das stabbed Janta Das on the stomach with the kitchen knife and fled from the hotel. When Janta Das was found injured, he was taken to RIMS for treatment but he succumbed to his injuries. “The bereaved family was informed and they will arrive at Imphal tomorrow,” he said. City police station have meanwhile registered a case with regard to the incident.
