IMPHAL, April 26: Indian Oil Corporation has allotted petrol and diesel to 25 petrol stations and 26 diesel pump station of the state which will be distributed tomorrow for the public according to a source from the All Manipur Petroleum drivers and drivers union (AMPATADU).
Representatives of the AMPTADU said over phone that due to the bandh called by the Zeliarong Youth front and other frontal Zeliangrong organizations calling for the the safe release of Alice who is in the custody of the RPF (PLA) there are major problems being faced by the general public of the state regarding the non availability of petrol in pumps and long queues.
The pumps where petrol and diesel have been allotted by the IOC include those in Imphal West, Imphal East, Ukhrul, CCpur and Thoubal .
It may be mentioned that some of the petrol pumps including IGAR Mantripukri, BRTF CCpur, Assam Rifle Singhat and Manipur Department Pumps have also been included in the list for allocation.
On the other hand, the stranded petrol tankers who are presently at the interstate Bus Terminus at Khuman Lampak have been provided additional police force for the protection of tankers.
