DIMAPUR, April 8 (NNN): After cancelling their trip to New Delhi in the first week of January, NSCN-IM leaders Isak Chisi Swu and Thuingaleng Muivah continue to be confined at their base at Hebron Camp off Dimapur since the last three months or so. Isak Swu however, had gone for a brief period on personal assignment to Delhi in the month of February.

Both the NSCN-IM leaders had come to Nagaland for Christmas on December 18 amid fueling speculations that they had placed their complete proposal to the Government of India which was expected by the early part of 2013. However, with a staunch silence maintained by both the Government of India and the NSCN-IM on the issue, the general Naga public are speculating with the nerve of negavity as to what might have happened to the Naga peace process.

Well placed sources from the NSCN-IM informed NNN today that both Isak Swu and Th Muivah have no immediate plan to go to New Delhi at the moment. “They will not leave Nagaland now. Our collective leadership (Swu and Muivah) will be here for a longer period,” the sources said.

Mention may be made that a very high level 5-member team is studying the proposed papers of the NSCN-IM and when it gets completed, New Delhi will invite the NSCN-IM leaders.

Meanwhile, a separate source from the NSCN-IM said things are doing fine “but at the moment, we do not want to comment on the issue. ” The source added that since things have been on very crucial stage for the past few months, giving comment on the issue may invite “unnecessary hurdles”.
