IMPHAL, April 8: A 40 year old two wheeler born woman was crushed to death by a Tata truck today at around 11.30 am in front of the Government oil depot near Imphal Hotel under Imphal police station.
According to the police, an empty Tata truck bearing registration number MN01 / 8700 coming from the northern side of Kangla towards Chingmeirong crushed the white colored Honda Activa bearing registration number MN01C / 2182 which was going in the same direction. The woman died on the spot while the driver of the Tata truck fled from the spot.
The woman has been identified as Thoidingjam (O) Julli (40), wife of Samudar of Khurai Thoidingjam leikai. The dead body was picked up by a police team and deposited at the Regional Institute of Medical Science (RIMS) morgue for the post mortem.Later, the body was handed over to family members. Imphal police have taken a case regarding the incident and seized the Tata truck involved in the accident.
