ROP provided along NH 2, loaded tankers arrive amidst highway bandh

    IMPHAL, Apr 28: Amidst the indefinite bandh called by the three different Zeliangrong organizations since April 21, a convoy of 27 loaded oil tankers arrived today at Imphal with the Government of Manipur detailing state and central Para-military forces (CPMF) since April 27 to discharge ROP duty for movement of oil tankers along National Highway No 2 (Imphal – Dimapur).

    The loaded tankers which arrived late morning included nine diesel tankers, three Kerosene/oil tankers, two air transport fuel (ATF) tankers and 13 petrol tankers,.

    According to a source, the 27 loaded tankers which arrived today are besides the 69 tankers which had reached Imphal yesterday. The source further added that 86 empty oil tankers which left Imphal will reach Khatkhati, Tinsukia and Numaligarh and then set out for Imphal after loading fuel.
