IMPHAL, April 20: The proscribed outfit Revolutionary People’s Front (RPF) has said in a press release that the five hindi speaking individuals in civvies suspected to be Indian security forces who had picked up a driver from a workshop at Khabam lamkhai on gun-point on April 10 and after severely assaulting the driver released him on April 17 with stern warnings against reporting the incident can be no one else.

It has claimed that the act was carried out by the Indian security forces who run away from their opponents but who have the license to do anything against innocent civilians.

It has questioned why the man was arrested in civilian dress and not in their official dress if he was indeed a criminal. Since arresting a civilian would create a furore within the civilian population, the security forces were trying to implicate the underground organizations for the kidnapping, it alleged.

However, the presence of hindi speaking individuals have given their identity away and the people can well understand that the five were from the security forces, it said.
