IMPHAL, May 17: Col Ajay Choudhury, the PRO of the Defence Wing stationed at M-Sector in Imphal, Saikholen Haokip (35) son of former Congress Minister and the present MLA of 59 AC Saikot, under Churachandpur district, TN Haokip and five others arrested earlier by a team of Thoubal commandos in Pallel on February 24 were today produced before the special court of the Narcotic Drug and psychotropic substance (NDPS) court and further remanded to 15 day judicial custody. Meanwhile, Lalminshang Mizo Alias Menshang who was arrested by a team of Moreh police on 9 may regarding his involvement in another Pallel drug case on has been granted bailed by the NDPS court on one Lakh surety bond today.
It may be mentioned that Army PRO Ajay Choudhary along the 5 other accused in the drug were arrested by a team of Thoubal district Police personal on 24 February in front of the Pallel commando police outpost when the along with a huge consignment of drugs worth 15 crore were heading toward Moreh in three vehicles along the National Highway number 2 Imphal Moreh route.
Army PRO Ajay Choudhary (49), son of (L) Shasidhar Choudhary; Saikholet Haokip (35), son of MLA T N Haokip of Deulalane 5th Avenue ; Assistant manager of Indigo Airlines (Imphal) and Indigo Security staff officer Ngairangbam Brojendro; Haopu Haokip (28), son of (L) Tamang Haokip of Game village zone 2; Minthang Doungel (29), son of Loukho Hao Doungel of New Checkon; Minlen Haokip (25), son of (L) Otkhokai Haokip of New Checkon and RK Babloo (25), son of R K Bijen of Top Khongnangkhong Porompat DC road were produced before the NDPS court today under three different FIR taken up by the Kakching police. The FIR are 26 (2) 2013 Kakching police; 27(2) 2013 Kakching police and 28(2) 2013 Kakching Police. The court announced a further 15 day judicial custody remad against all the seven accused.
Meanwhile, Lalminshang Mizo alias Menshang who was arrested Moreh police on May 9 regarding his involvements in the April 28 drug seizure case in which one Sub Inspector and the Jamandar of the Moreh commando unit along with 9 personal of the commando unit were arrested by Thoubal Police has been granted bail by the NDPS court after the Additional public prosecutor failed to provide proper evidence regarding his involvements with regard to the case.
Menshang stated to the court that he did not know Sub Inspector RK Binodjit, the Officer in charge of the Moreh commando unit and one Md Ali who is still absconding in the case. Menshang said that he had no idea of the drug consignment. His name had been incidentally taken by the OC.
