KANGPOKPI, May 28: Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA), a community health workers, ASHA felicitators, GNMs and ANMs under the National Health Rural Mission under Kangpokpi Block were handed a Videocon mobile handset with other kits for official use in a simple function held at CHC, Kangpokpi.
A total of 91 ASHA under Kangpokpi block including 53 ASHA of T.Waichong areas besides ASHA felicitators, GNMs and ANMs were distributed the mobile handsets which came with a BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) SIM Card alongwith approns and a ASHA diary by the Addl.DC Kangpokpi DK.Thangboi, who attended the distribution function as a Chief Guest.
The function was also attended by Sr.MO i/c Dr. Pushpa Rai and District Programme Manager, NRHM, Senapati district Elizabeth RK.
Speaking at the function Addl.DC Kangpokpi DK.Thangboi said, distributing mobile handset to the ASHA and others will be very much helpful to them since they work in the field and always keep in touch directly with the concerned authority.
The Addl.DC also encourage all the ASHA to work harder and better in the interest of the general public.
Sr.MO i/c Dr.Pushpa Rai lauded the tremendous tireless work rendered by the ASHA and assured to help the poor with regards to their health in her capacity.
Elizabeth RK, District Program Manager, NRHM, Senapati district said that the efforts of ASHAs have not been valued satisfactorily but they play a vital role particularly in the health care sector of the society.
She further said that, the service of ASHA is very much important which is why the government had taken the initiative to help the ASHA.
