BJP rises to Congress salvo

IMPHAL, May 27: There has been drastic drawback in the development in hill areas, no proper construction of roads, and there are problems of electricity, water, education, healthcare etc in the state during the rule of Congress for 35 years.

This was said by Y Nilamani Singh, Spokesperson of BJP Manipur Pradesh in a press meet at its conference hall today. He went on to ask if there is any change brought in any topic during the rule of O Ibobi for eleven years in 3 terms.

The arrangement to break the integrity of Manipur is made by none other than the O Ibobi led Congress government, he charged and added that earlier when the CM Ibobi was received at Senapati with a “Welcome to Nagaland – Shri O Ibobi Singh, Chief Minister, Manipur” festoon, he came back smiling on the pretext that it is democracy.

He then asked  Gaikhangam regarding what actions are being taken up against those Home Department personnel involved in crimes pointing out to the involvement of Commando personnel, and an ex Congress Minister’s son in drug trafficking, MR personnel in kidnap and murder of a plywood factory manager (from Kangla), and then in the gang rape of a woman chilly seller from the home minister’s own constituency.

Y Nilamani said that with regard to a land case involving T Mangibabu, Vice President of Congress Party the site of the land, time and Case No should be clearly indicated to the people.

He then went on to demand the government for a clarification on the power output of the the heavy fuel power project set up at Leimakhong with an estimated cost of Rs 200 crore inaugurated by the President of India. 

During the press meet, M Sharda Devi of BJP Manipur Pradesh said it will be a mistake to think that a party works for people after being elected and do not work if it is not elected.

The existence of the present government is useless as it could not protect women from being raped and murdered. The fast track court which is there for the namesake should be made functional soon and culprits punished severely in order to avoid repetition of the crimes, she added.

L Bashanta Sharma, Media Coordinator BJP Manipur Pradesh gave wishes to the Congress government in return to its wishes that at least one or two candidates of BJP may win in the next elections.

I Mangiton of BJP Manipur Pradesh also spoke at the press meet.
