IMPHAL, May 29: Imphal West police commandos conducted a cordon and search operation at the Governor Road today at around 3 pm.
Speaking to media persons, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Imphal West, S Ibomcha said that the cordon and search operation was conducted under his supervision to check any unlawful people present in the area and to prevent happening of any untoward incident.
Altogether, 12 persons without proper identity proof were detained during the checking and later handed over to city police for further verification, he added.
