IMPHAL, May 10: The JAC against the Mass Atrocities by Heirok Police has decided to boycott the local MLA who is also the state Education, CAF & PD Minister Moirangthem Okendro in case the government and the MLA failed to respond to its repeated demands for action against SI Premjit and his Heirok Police station team for allegedly abusing members of the Heirok EMA and party during the intervening night of April 10 and 11 around 11:30pm.
It may be mentioned that the JAC and locals had earlier on May 8 set on fire effigies of the local MLA, the state Home Minister and the Thoubal SP for their failure to respond to the demands.
Speaking to media persons at the Manipur Press Club today, spokesperson L Mandir said the JAC and the locals will socially boycott the MLA if the government fails to respond to its demand within five days time from today.
