KNF refutes reported involvement in Bongbal Kholen factional fight

KANGPOKPI, May 29: The Kuki National Front, a Suspension of Operation signatory having tripartite agreement with the govts at the Centre and the state has today flatly denied its involvement at the Bongbal Kholen firing on the midnight of May 27. A press statement of the outfit issued in the name of LH Stephen, information and publicity secretary of the outfit clarified that as per the SoO ground rules, all the cadres and weapons of the outfit has been kept intact at the outfit designated Camp.

The statement said that, “this accusation is being hurled at us to malign the good name and dignity of the organization while claiming that the Kuki National Front cannot accept the formation of any new underground outfit when the peace and political dialogue is on with the Govt. of India”.

The statement of the information and publicity secretary of the outfit also appealed to all Kuki UGs, civil organizations, political leaders and the general public not to extend any support morally or financially to the self-titled Kuki National Front (Nehlun) led by one Henkholen alias James Kipgen in the interest of peace. LH.Stephen also appealed to all the local dailies and the state media house to stop quoting Kuki National Front (KNF) as KNF (P) since there is no organization called KNF (P).
