IMPHAL, May 6: The third anniversary of the death of (L) Loshou and (L) Chakho was organized today at the Martyr’s Park at Mao gate on May 6, informed a press statement of the UNC.
It said the program which was organized by the Mao Council under the aegis of the United Naga Council was attended by the Naga Hoho, the Naga Students` Federation, Naga tribe/Regional Councils, Naga Frontal Organizations, Naga college and High School students from the Mao-Maram area, village council of the neighbouring Khuzama village, officials of the Southern Angami Public Organisation and chairmen and secretaries of village councils, village women society and students unions of the Mao villages.
The presenters of the programme were Dr Gina Sangkham and Samson Remei and was co-ordinated by Kaihrii Chisiite, it said.
The Redeeming Band from Kaibi village and J Jasmine presented enthralling special numbers added to the solemnity of the program, the statement said.
Further according to the statement of the UNC, its president also addressed the gathering.
The president spoke on the incident of May 6, 2010 at Mao gate in which (L) Neli Chakho Mao, and Daikho Loshou Mao were killed during firing by state forces during the impasse over the matter of the entry of Th. Muivah, General secretary of NSCN-IM into the state.
Further according to a reaffirmation of the observation jointly signed by president, United Naga Council; vice president, United Naga Council; general secretary; president Anal Naga Taangpi; President, Bujuur (Moyon) Aanchung Puh, president, Tangkhul Naga Long, president , Kharam Naga Hoho and chairman Zeliangrong baudi (Manipur) said “On this third anniversary, as we pay our respects to the martyred students and the other victims of police atrocities, we also manifest our unwavering commitment to the world for an immediate alternative arrangement outside the Government of Manipur, pending settlement of the Indo-Naga issue”.
