IMPHAL, May 11: A one day block level political workers’ conference was organized by the Sagolband Block Congress Committee at Lainingthou Khamlangba Community Hall, Sagolband Moirang Leirak Machin here today.
Speaking at the occasion, Dr Chaltolian Amo, Chairman Hill Areas Committee and Vice President of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) said people may believe what other parties like BJP, CPI, MPP are saying randomly false things about Congress but he party believes only in good work and doing it.
During the occasion, Gaikhangam, Deputy Chief Minister and President MPCC said the political conference is being organised as the party felt that it would be right to make the people aware of the various programs of the government and policy and programs of the party.
It is only when the party stays together and closely with the people that it will become viable and a much stronger one, he said. The people are requested to advise and guide the party by correcting its fault. There are many parties in the state however none other than Congress party stay there in the most needed time, he added.
Cooperation from everyone is needed for the welfare of the state. Let us pay income, water, electricity, vehicle taxes, Gaikhangam asserted.
The conference was attended by Dr Kh Loken, Ex MLA Sagolband AC and Vice President MPCC; T Mangibabu, MLA Thanga AC and also Vice President MPCC; W Khelendra Singh, President Sagolband BCC; office bearers of MPCC and Congress Workers.
