Two persons held with tablets

    IMPHAL, May 8: The Coalition Against Drugs And Alcohol has said in a press release that it has been launching various drives and campaigns with an objective to have a healthy society by rooting out intoxicants and drugs from the state. In continuation of the drive, CADA Bishnupur District Committee rounded up two drug abusers along with 28 packets of tablets.

    The two persons were rounded up while they were trying to give tablets to another person who runs a clothes shop at Bishnupur Bazaar. When they were `interrogated`, it came to light that they were not only drug traffickers but also drug abusers. It is learnt that they were previously rounded up by CADA in connection with drug trafficking and handed over to the police.

    The two persons rounded up were interrogated by CADA and handed  over to OC Rishikesh, Bishnupur police. The release further said that CADA will conduct various drives against drugs and appealed to the public to extend to stand together against drugs.
