IMPHAL, June 14: The 738th birth anniversary of Maichou Konok Thengra was today celebrated at the memorial shrine of the Maichou near the Konok Erel where he was assumably laid to rest. Maisnam Apabi, Maichou purel of Sana Konung; Maichou Wangkhemcha Angom Ibochou; Y Chingkhienganba, general secretary of Meihourol Inat Kanba Apunba Lup (MIKAL); Loikhanganba, secretary of Maichou Ningsing Khubham Construction Committee; Moirangthem Ramchandra Meitei; Haobijam Deben Meitei, Khaidem Manikumar, Haobijam Manaobi Meitei among others were present in the memorial function.
It is noteworthy that MIKAL has erected pillar stone on April 5, 2013 as a part of its effort to construct memorial shrines of all the Maichous.
