IMPHAL, June 26: Around 200 out 399 common service centres of the state have been opened under the guideline of Electronic and information technology of government of India and has begun to function. The remaining CSC yet to be opened include 33 at Ukhrul, 104 at Senapati , 29 at Tamenglong, 91 at Churachandpur and 60 at Chandel Districts. This was stated by Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh while responding to cut motions raised during general budget discussion on Demand No. 50 for information technology today.
He further said that actions have been initiated to arrest and ban those who commit cyber crimes including through use of Facebook in the state by arresting the criminals. The CM also said that a research will be carried out to ascertain How far away from the human beings Mobile towers in the state should be erected and to what extent does radiation emitted from towers affect/harm human beings.
It is set to engender IT special e-zone within October 2013 in phase I of Information technology (IT). Phase II of IT sets its goals within December 2014 under which it will help towards employment, e-ticketing and preparation of voter lists to a great extent, he pointed out.
As of now, billboard/hoarding, poster campaign, short audio programme and district level awareness programmes are being held in nine districts of the state for IT, he said before adding that MLA and Ministers had recently undergone training on IT at Hyderabad and the Chief Minister himself also underwent training on IT on the floor of the House.
Stating that this government is not a government which treats hills and valley differently, he said that the member of Rajya Sabha from Ukhrul District is the longest serving Chief Minister of the state. He also went on to add that Late Yangmasho Shaiza from the same district became the Chief Minister of the state while Alimuddin from among minority communities became the Chief Minister. The government is taking up rigorous actions to provide equal opportunities to hills and the valley, he informed on the floor of the House
