IMPHAL, June 12: The All Manipur Students’ Union has today called a press conference alleging negligence in the evaluation of High School Leaving Certificate examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur today.

The press conference was held at the student union’s headquarter.

Manjit Sarangthem, AMSU, HRD Secretary has claimed that the authorities have shown irresponsibility in the evaluation of the examination results citing that while Hijam Kangleicha Luwang students of Kangleipak Mordern School, Singda secured only six marks out of 100 in Social Science, after re-evaluation it was found that he had actually secured 80 marks in the subject.

Following the error in the evaluation of Hijam Kangleicha Luwangcha’s Social Science marks, nine students have also filed for re-evaluation of their marks out of which eight of them found their marks to be error prone, he said.

Alleging that the board had been negligent in the evaluation of the marks, he said if students appeal for re-evaluation, there might be many more instances of wrong evaluation. Many students who have failed in just one subject could re-evaluate their marks, he said.

He further appealed the concerned minister to look into the matter so that it wouldn’t happen again.
