IMPHAL, June 15: A press release from Manipur State Commision for Women said that a team led by Dr L lbetombi Devi, Chairperson, H Piteswori Devi, Member, S Meghachandra Sharma, Member Secretary and supporting staff of Manipur State Commission for Women made a spot inquiry at the residence of deceased Lohiya aged 34 years wife of Pokihomao of Tadubi Village under Senapati District, Manipur on June 15 at 1:00 p.m.
It said that according to news reports, said deceased Lohiya was killed by her husband with his licensed gun.
The team interacted with the family members of late Lohiya and local people in order to know the real fact of killing and motive behind the said killing and some informative clue has been collected as to the cause of death, it said and added that Commission will initiate an inquiry for the said occurrence in order to try to curb such offences.
