IMPHAL, June 15: A mega blood donation camp was formally inaugurated by Prof S. Sekharjit, Director was held today at the Blood Bank of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal, said a RIMS press statement
“In his brief speech, the Director said that it was heartening that there is awareness among the people on the need to make voluntary blood donations”, it said.
“The good response from people of all walks of life is encouraging. Personnel of 69 Bn Central Reserve Police Force also donated blood during the camp”, it said.
“The Director said that the personnel may also need blood they have donated during emergencies and illness. The system is that a patient gets blood from the blood bank through replacements only. However he announced that in case of the CRPF personnel he will see to it that they get the emergency blood requirements without replacements”, it said.
