IMPHAL, June 14: The Democratic Students’ Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has today released a press statement saying that an effective admission arrangement for the class XI students should be chalked out by the government of Manipur so as to accommodate as maximum students as possible.
There has been an increasing trend for the last 2/3 years of admission in the government higher secondary schools and this year has got a maximum number of form submissions, it said and further urged the government to accommodate all such students seeking admission, it added.
There were no admission activities in the government higher secondary schools and colleges in the last one decade consequently the school building remained useless while the teachers felt shameful of being a teacher, it said.
Such situation left an end by starting a new phase in the higher secondary and colleges of Manipur by admitting a large number of students. Despite this, a large of number of students is also submitting admission forms in the higher secondary of the district headquarters also, it further added.
DESAM furthermore made an appeal to the government of Manipur to note regarding admission fee of the private schools of Manipur which are ranging from Rs. 500/- to Rs. 23000/-. Such a large amount could not be affordable for the poor parents and low income families.
