IMPHAL, June 30: HURI Tech (AISECT) Thoubal has organised in association with Social Service and Welfare Association, Thoubal Wangmataba a two days horticultural and tree plantation program which was started from June 29, 2013 at Thoubal Wangmataba Engkhol Achouba.
The concluding day was today held in which Y Bijen Singh, Chairperson of the Thoubal Municipal Council has planted nursery of mango, lemon, orange, guava, heirangoi and other medicinally valued plants and briefed the media that the global climate change is due to the lost of forest, wetland and deforestation at the hill and added that such a tree plantation program is very helpful and commendable work. The Organizer further said that they have organised this tree plantation program as a part of the World Environment Day, it said.
