IMPHAL, June 12: KCP (MC) Nongdrenkhomba group commander in chief Ningthoujam Romen alias Nongdrenkhomba was released today from Sajiwa Central Jail to join the tripartite peace talk with the Government of Manipur and Government of India.
He was received by his family, relatives and cadres of his group who are already in the process of peace talks.
He was later taken to an Assam Rifles camp in Churachandpur.
It may be mentioned here that KCP (MC) Nongdrenkhomba group commander in chief Ningthoujam Romen alias Nongdrenkhomba (30), son of N Ibotomba of Kumbi Thingel Leikai in Bishnupur district was reportedly arrested by a team of Delhi police last year on October 31 from the Inter-State Bus Terminus at Sarai Kale Khan in New Delhi.
On the request of Manipur Police, Nongdrenkhomba was brought back to the state and was re-arrested by Manipur police for his involvement in cases including murder, abduction and extortion.
He joined KCP on 2007 and was earlier arrested on 2008 from Meghalaya but was released on bail after two months.
KCP (MC) Lamphel group general secretary Taibanganba, who also came to receive Nongdrenkhomba at Sajiwa Central jail today speaking to the media said that the latter has been released from the jail to join the tripartite peace talks with the GOM and GOI.
Nondrenkhonmba will be joining KCP (MC) Lamphel group as organization secretary, he added.
It may also be mentioned here that KCP (MC) Nongdrenkhoba group chief of army Laishram Gunamani alias Guna alias Pamheiba, son of Laishram Rajen of Kongba Laishram Leikai along with six other cadres of the KCP(MC) Nondrengkhomba group including lance corporal Kshtrimayum Binoy alias Keibi, son of K Praphulo; corporal Ningthoujam Jiten alias Yaimaba, son of N Yaima, Khestrimayum Binoy alias Kebi son of Prafullo; and Chingsubam Amuba alias Johey, son of Ch Romi, Hemam Somen alias Thoungamba, son of Hongba have laid down their arms to the Indian Army on April 24, 2013.
