KNF(P) cadres nabbed

IMPHAL, June 8: The Superintendent of Police, Thoubal district has issued a press release stating that a combined team of CDO Thoubal and 15 Assam Riffles had today arrested six cadres of the KNF (P) during a search operation at Yairipok Laimanai Lamkhai.

During the operation, one suspected Tata Magic bearing registration number MN-04A/7485 was stopped for thorough checking and verification of the suspected occupants at about 3:00 pm, it added.

It further continued that during verification, the occupants disclosed they are the active cadres of KNF(P) and had recieved basic military training at Halpy Ching at Evenzer Camp of Netheljang in Senapati District, Sadar Hill and they identified themselves as Lulin Kipgen 22, son of Helsat Kipgen of Kangchup Chingkhong; Paokhothang Khongsai 33, son of Paojasei Khongsai of Bongjang; Ginminsei Kipgen 22, son of Kamsat Kipgen of Motbung Phayang; Haolunmang Zou 20, son of Dongjakhai Zou of Tuining Village; Satgoulen Kipgen 20, son of Thanglam Kipgen of T Chaljang and Nehkhohao Kipgen 19, son of Lamkhonoh Kipgen of New Keithelmanbi.

On further verification, the occupants disclosed that they were coming from Saparmeina and had hired the Tata Magic bearing registration number MN-04A/7485 driven by one Md Hibjur Rahman 32, son of MV Reihanlubbin of Sangaiyumpham Cherapur Mayai Leikai from the Kangla park at the rate of Rs 1500/ to drop them at Bongbal Khullen to assist other KNF(P) cadres so as to dominate Bongbal Khullen area under the instruction of s/s camp Ccommander Scot who directed them to report to s/s corporal Sheikhulen Kipgen alias Browli at Bongbal Khullen, it said.

The six KNF(P) cadres and Tata Magic driver were arrested for legal process, it added.
