KSO-SH demands NSA for 9 ATSUM bandh volunteers

KANGPOKPI, June 3: Altogether nine persons suspected to be a volunteers of ATSUM “38 hours intense agitation” which begin today were apprehended by 43 Assam Rifle posted at Motbung today near Kanglatongbi Mandir area at around 2:30 pm, informed Lamcha Chongloi, General Secretary of Kuki Students` Organization Sadar Hills.

He also said that all the nine suspected ATSUM volunteers were caught red-handed while they were catapulting one Imphal to Motbung  bound passenger bus at Kanglatongbi bazar this evening. They were caught with a catapults and metal balls of 8mm steel rods along with one bolero bearing Registration No. MN04A/6603. Subsequently, they were handover to Sekmai Police Station along with the items and the vehicle.

One Momo Tangtanga, said to be the President of All Tribal Disabled Union Manipur is among the nine apprehendees.

In the meantime, the Kuki Students` Organization Sadar Hills has demanded NSA on all the nine apprehendees under Anti-Bandh Law passed by the state government recently while expressing gratitude to the 43 Assam Rifle, Motbung post, Sekmai and Sapormeina Police, CDOs for carrying out their duty in protecting the vehicular movement along the national highway in such situation effectively to prevent damage of vehicles as well as human casualty.
