KSO-SH, other civil bodies welcome new Brigadier

KANGPOKPI, June 14: The Kuki Students` Organization, Sadar Hills along with Kangpokpi civil bodies today gave a welcome to the new Brigadier Ajai Singh Negi of 59 Mountain Brigade under Red Shield Division at Kangpokpi Lighthouse School.

A free medical and dental camp named “Operation Sadbhavana” was also conducted at the same venue under the same Brigade and Division by 43 Assam Rifles.

Kuki Students` Organization Sadar Hills welcomed the new Brigadier by presenting him with a Kuki traditional shawl and expressed enthusiasm in working together to promote peace and harmony in the area.

The student body also presented a traditional shawl to the CO 43 Assam Rifles, Lairouching who accompanied the new Brigadier.

Kangpokpi civil bodies including Kangpokpi Town Committee, Kangpokpi Women Welfare Organization, Kangpokpi Youth Union and Elder`s Forum, Kangpokpi also presented Kuki traditional shawls each to the new Brigadier and the CO 43 Assam Rifles, Lairouching.

Lamcha Chongloi, the student body’s general secretary informed that the student body is looking forward of the new Brigadier love and concerned and also his commitment towards the people of Sadar Hills in general and student welfare in particular.

The new Brigadier Ajai Singh Negi in his speech told the leaders that, “I am also a Hill man. I am from the same Himalayan range”, while adding that the Assam Rifles are always the front runner to promote peace and harmony as well as development where ever they are.

The new Brigadier also sought the cooperation of the leaders in bringing peaceful environment in the areas.
