IMPHAL, June 12: The Kuki Chiefs’ Association, Moreh Block (KCAMB) has in a release said that it endorsed the implementation of 25 percent MGNREGS by the Autonomous District Council Members.
The said implementation is as per the Government guidelines and that the KCAMB supports and endorsed the policy of the Government. The KCAMB shall support the policy of the Government in implementing the programme successfully as per the policy within Moreh Block and shall join hands with likeminded societies in the said matter, the release further said.
Meanwhile, the KCAMB strongly condemned the State Government for not conferring the powers of the Autonomous District Councils despite of the election being held, it said while adding that the elections was held amidst several ban and warnings from some elements.
The KCAMB therefore warn the concerned authorities that, if the power and functions of the ADCs are not conferred at the earliest and the policy to implement 25 percent MGNREGS by the ADC members is not implemented as per Government guidelines, the Association will be compelled to launch a series of democratic forms of agitations and that the Government shall be responsible for all consequences, it added.
