New Panglian Community hall inaugurated

LAMKA, June 22: Singhat MLA GS Haupu today inaugurated the New Panglian Community Hall which was constructed under the MLA LAPD 2012-13 at an estimated cost of Rs 6.69 lakh.

Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said that villagers of New Panglian had worked real hard and deserved the community hall although it is still without a roof.

He further compared the villagers with the people of Singapore, which he said he along with other MLAs had visited on a tour to see the development of the country.

Though the funds for the construction of the community hall is yet to be released, he had himself provided the money he said during the function which was also attended by the Singhat SDO.

He further expressed before the SDO that the SDO will soon ready the bill for the construction and the remaining work on the community hall will be completed soon.

The MLA also advised the villagers on the need of the Biometric data collection of the government as this will be the most important document while identifying themselves.

Haupu also spoke on the importance of accepting common nomenclature to the linguistically diverse villager of New Panglian.

After the program at New Panglian, the MLA along with his team also inspected the right canal of the Khuga Dam where one crossover bridge of the canal had given way/collapse. The MLA promised to build the bridge starting Monday.

The team later also inspected the construction work at Sugnu road which is the constituency of the MLA, starting from ITI Saikot  to P Phaijawl funded from the Central Road Fund (CRF)  with  Rs 3 crore sanctioned but which  again had not  been released yet.  

During the inspection, the MLA instructed the workers to start the construction work from the Saingaikot end of the road.

On being asked about the absence of drainage system from along the road, the MLA immediately informed the contractors to accommodate drainage systems along the road sides.
