IMPHAL, June 17: Huiyen Lallong Manipur Thang Ta Cultural Association has today issued a press note intimating over an interaction program and one day master class on Thang-Ta with participants from USA, Canada, Poland, Israel and Denmark which was held at the office of the association at Irilbung.
On the occasion, S Videshwar Sharma, secretary of Manipur State Kala Akademy participated in the function as chief guest while founder president of association, G Gourakishpre Sharma presided over the function and Smt. H Piteswori Devi, member Manipur State Commission for Women and as guest of honour respectively.
S Vedeshwor Sharma has not only welcomed but appreciated the artistes who are endeavor for Thang-Ta from different parts of the world and said that Thang-Ta is way of life for the people of Manipur.
While giving his presidential address, Padmashri Gourkishor Sharma has said that Thang-Ta has two elements of inner and outer characteristics, while mentioning that understanding of Thang-Ta could not be possible with the outer characteristic but could be possible with a inside research on it, said it. He further said that we have communications with the visiting artistes without language, this is called culture thereby creating an atmosphere of love through culture, it said.
