IMPHAL, June 6: A 32 year old riding a Kinetic Honda moped was mowed down by a Tata dipper today at around 9:30 am at Langjing Achouba under Lamphel police station in Imphal West district.
The deceased has been identified as Khongbantabam Surjit (32), son of Manihar of Patsoi Part 3.
The deceased was hit by a Tata Dipper bearing registration number MN06-T- 6820 which is reportedly engaged in the HVS construction works at Patsoi while he was heading toward Imphal on a Kinetic Honda moped bearing registration number MN-1J-7154. The dead body has been deposited at RIMS morgue for post mortem and the driver along with the Tata Dipper has been arrested by Lamphel police.
