IMPHAL, June 4: Indo Myanmar Exim Association has submitted an application, of which a Xerox copy of the same was available to IFP, to the Deputy commissioner of Imphal customs division, New Checkon mentioning in the subject for the prevention of illegal movements of Myanmar originated betel nuts.
The Exim association said in the application that 25% of the Myanmar betel nuts coming to India via Moreh and Champai are legal whereas 75% are deemed illegal which thereby decreases legal import through Moreh customs station.
