IMPHAL, June 29: Students, teachers and non-teaching staffs of Comet English Higher Secondary School, locals of Chagangei Uchekon areas including womenfolk and local club members today staged a sit in protest at Changangei Uchekon community hall against the lobbing of hand grenade inside the school’s compound by unidentified person(s).
Speaking to media persons, School Principal Kh Ibocha singh said that the bomb was found by a guard of the school today at around 5 am inside the school’s compound.
Police bomb experts came and safely detonated the bomb at around 8 am after they were informed by the school authority.
The Principal denied receiving any demand note or any kind of threat from any underground elements.
While condemning the lobbing of hand grenade at an educational institute causing fear to the minds of the students and staffs as well, he demanded clarification from the UG group who is responsible for the bomb attack.
