IMPHAL, June 15: Pukhrambam Julia, a hearing impaired student of Thamphasana Girl’s Higher Secondary School who got excellent marks in the recently announced Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur examination result was felicitated today at the launching function of the All Manipur disable women organization and distributing of Aids and Appliances for the people with disabilities held at Manipur Dramatic Union organized by the Spastic Society Manipur.
Speaking at the function, M Sunita Devi, secretary of the newly formed All Manipur Disable Women Organization, said that as a part of the initiative to empower person with disability spastic society of Manipur in association with the ALIMCO and ADIP scheme is distributing the aids and appliances to the disable persons. Altogether 18 children and 28 adults will be provided with wheelchair, 21 adults with tricycle and 75 persons with digital behind the ear hearing aids, she said.
