IMPHAL, June 12: A combined team of Imphal East commandos and 30 Assam Rifles arrested one PULF cadre from the eastern side of Irilbung Bridge today at about 5:35 am, said a release of SP Imphal East district.
According to the release the arrested person has been identified as Md Nasir Khan alias Ithem, 30, son of Md Basir Ahamed of Yairipok Tulihal.
On verification, he stated that he joined PULF organization through his younger brother identified as Md Sahid Ahamed alias Rajkhan, who was killed in an encounter at Irilbung and he was involved in extortion of money from the general public, government officials and private firms, the release said.
