IMPHAL, June 13: The Manipur Students’ Federation has urged the concerned authorities of Manipur University (MU) to take action against a student who was allegedly caught red handed using unfair means during the 6th semester B Com (honors) examination. Speaking to the media at a press meet held at MSF office, Tiddim Road today, MSF vice president Kh Sirajudin said that a student of Biramangol College, Sawombung was allegedly caught red handed using unfair means in the 6th semester B com (honours) examination of paper number 9 (Accountancy Information System) on June 8 by volunteers of MSF.

During the examination which was centered at the college itself, the said student was caught with notes of question number 6 to 12 of the paper which carries 49 marks, he said while adding that the total mark of the examination is 100 and the pass mark is only 35.

The MSF volunteers later handed the student to his parents and urged them to reveal the name of the teacher who provided the student with the notes, he claimed.

However, the family members and the student did not turn up till today and the student has been kept hidden, he charged.

He further urged the concerned authorities of Manipur University to take action against the said student and also find out the teacher(s) who has/have allegedly leaked the question paper of the said exam.

The student leader while expressing suspicion of ‘question leak’ in other examinations conducted by MU also maintained that such incidents of question leaks are happening due to the lack of a student body at Manipur University and demanded for re-instituting a Manipur University Students’ Union.
