IMPHAL, June 13: The Sangaiyumpham Part I Gram Panchayat will be a commendable and model Gram Panchayat, not only for the Thoubal district but also for the entire Manipur. This statement was made today by the Secretary of the Sangaiyumpham Part I Gram Panchayat Development Committee, Md Nasir Khan.
After a spot visit at different work sides including completed ones which were being implemented in the GP under Mahatama Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS) and thirteen finance commission of the state government, the development committee secretary further said that Sangaiyumpham Part I Gram Panchayat Development Committee was constituted under the supervision of the Pradhan Mrs. Alif Jan. Development committee members, nominee of the Pradhan and many people of the locality were part the visit.
Md Nasir Khan stressed on the cent percent completion works and further said that 26 major works were completed while 7 more works are being prepared for progress which could be seldom seen in other GP in a record time.
Furthermore, on the non supply of electricity due to tax related problem, the secretary declared that the pradhan has made an effort in this regard thereby getting electricity benefit in the area and at the same time, connection of electricity for the below poverty line (BPL) families will be made under rural electrification programme.
Md Azad Khan, a nominee of the pradhan also said that the development committee will check schools under its jurisdiction over the matter of whether the students were getting benefits under the scope of Right to Education while charging the concerned contractor for preventing public using the finished waiting shed at Sallam Macha Keilei Pokpi over the nonpayment their bill and further said that a legal process will be initiated if not responded accordingly.
