IMPHAL, June 12: Students of several Imphal east schools staged sit in protests today in front of their respective school gates demanding implementation of the Inner Line Permit System in Manipur organised by the Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System in Manipur student wing.
The protest was witnessed in front of Ananda Singh Higher Secondary School and Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School, Porompat school gates participated by the teachers and the students of the school holding placards which read “As ILP is imposed in Nagaland, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh then why not in Manipur”, “Through ILP we can save our culture and tradition”, “Imposing ILP can save our Indigenous peoples”, and “Impose ILP at the earliest”.
